Who We Are

Acappella Road is the premier men’s barbershop chorus based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We are proud to represent the Calgary-Foothills chapter of the Evergreen District of the Barbershop Harmony Society.

Originally founded in 1986 as Western Hospitality Singers, our chorus started out by bringing a classic Western sound to the forefront of barbershop singing. Rebranding as Acappella Road in 2019, we broadened our horizons to embrace a wider variety of music, including traditional barbershop, classical choral music, and an a cappella twist on popular tunes by world-famous artists like The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra, and more.

Making Memories in Harmony

Acappella Road has celebrated bringing people together to create joy through song for 30 years and counting. We provide unforgettable entertainment for audiences young and old, creating breathtaking moments in glorious four-part harmony.

Camaraderie through Musicianship

Acappella Road is proud to be an inclusive chorus. Our membership is made up of classically-trained musicians and amateurs alike, aged anywhere from 18 to 80. We provide our members with world-class vocal and performance coaching to strive towards musical excellence. Through these values, we foster an approachable musical environment that brings singers together from all walks of life to form bonds through song.

Building Community

We aim to spread joy all across the Calgary community, whether that’s through raising funds for charitable initiatives, collaborating with other choruses around town, providing entertainment for local groups, or spreading joy through acts of volunteering and community-building. Over the years, our chorus and quartets have collaborated with groups such as the Calgary Food Bank, Heritage Park, Spruce Meadows, Calgary Men’s Chorus, Rhythm of the Rockies, the Calgary Lions Club, United Active Living, and many, many more.
