Who We Are
Acappella Road is a premier men’s chorus based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We perform in a wide variety of choral genres, including pop, showtunes, gospel, traditional western, classical choral, and barbershop, all in the a cappella style.
Originally formed in 1986 as Western Hospitality Singers, we started out by celebrating a unique western-Canada style of warm and welcoming hospitality to our audiences. In 2020, we built on that foundation and re-branded as Acappella Road, celebrating the breadth of a cappella vocal music performed in four-part harmony.
For over 30 years, we have entertained audiences far and wide across Alberta and British Columbia, and all throughout the United States, including Anaheim, Salt Lake City, Columbus, Nashville, Portland, Boise, and Seattle, just to name a few. Today, we grow with a single-minded focus on our vision and values!

Here at Acappella Road, we provide our singers with a world-class musical education, bringing in coaches from all around North America to take our performances to the next level. We keep things fresh by incorporating a wide variety of genres in our repertoire, regularly experimenting with new vocal techniques, and participating in regional contests where our singers can engage in friendly competition with other choruses from around Canada and the United States.Camaraderie & Connection
Acappella Road is proud to be an inclusive chorus. Our membership consists of classically-trained musicians and amateurs alike, anywhere from the ages of 18 to 80. We bring people together from all walks of life to celebrate the one thing they all have in common: a shared love of making music together. The result is a diverse community where lifelong bonds are formed between people who may not have otherwise had a chance to connect.Community Engagement
We aim to spread joy all across the Calgary community, whether that’s through raising funds for charitable initiatives, collaborating with other choruses around town, providing entertainment for local groups, or spreading joy through acts of volunteering and community-building. Over the years, our chorus and quartets have worked with the Calgary Food Bank, Heritage Park, Spruce Meadows, Calgary Men’s Chorus, Rhythm of the Rockies, the Calgary Lions Club, United Active Living, and many, many more.Non-Stop Fun
We strive to foster a fun and engaging environment for each and every singer, collaborator, and audience member. Our rehearsals are always full of laughter and joy, whether it's through line-dancing as a physical warmup, writing parodies of classic barbershop tunes, or competing to see who can make the best faces during our run-throughs. By celebrating fun in our rehearsal process, we bring it all the way to the stage, putting on delightful concerts where everyone leaves with a smile on their face.Hear Us Sing!
